Taken from the First Age, he is not the bodiless, all seeing eye of flame that most are used to. Nor is he yet the Necromancer. He is the first Lieutenant of Angband, the Deceiver, the Shapeshifter, the Sorcerer, and the right hand of the Dark Lord Melkor.

While Melkor still stands, he shall serve no other, not even his own ends.
